ReImagine Science is a non-profit organization founded in Washington, D.C. in 2008 by a group of individuals interested in science who saw drastic change on the horizon. We knew it was time to create a space for exploration and experimentation that goes beyond problem-based solutions, to facilitate critical conversations for the future of science.

We work to reimagine how science is done and shared by
Deeply considering relationships
Embracing diversity & equity
Envisioning transformative & integrated outcomes
All in service of addressing existential crises.

We’ve collaborated on more than a dozen initiatives that have brought together hundreds of individuals from science and technological domains to discuss the looming questions of our industry, such as:

  • Who else is stepping up to the plate to find new solutions to old problems?
  • What are the components of effective teamwork, and how may they be implemented?
  • How and where is science being utilized on a global level?
  • How can we lead the next generation of scientists and engineers, generate optimism and discover new paths that will take them where they set out to go?
  • What’s possible, if we dream big?

Current times call for a shift from a competitive to a collaborative approach. In academia, departments are struggling with fundamental questions on how to do this. What are the components of teamwork, and where might this emergent role be implemented? We provide new, robust, vision-driven ways for getting work done, well, in scientific discovery and in technological and scientific application.

We seek to answer these and many other questions, and we welcome all scientists, post-docs and supporters to ReImagineScience.org – a space to answer your questions, share your insights, make connections and discover new opportunities. You are invited to join this gathering of ideas, people and projects to rethink what science and technology can be.

Our Mission:
To ReImagine Science for a more connected and integrated world
